Fluid Hammer is a series of hydraulic shock waves generated within the confines of a piping system due to the sudden stopping of fluid flow. This condition is caused by fast closing of positive valves incorporated within the system. The effect of fluid hammer is damaging if allowed to exist for any length of time and will result in broken pipes and damage to other components in the system.
- May be installed in new or existing plumbing systems with a standard pipe tee
- Maintenance free, the piston is the only moving part
- Barrel-fabricated of type "L" hard drawn copper
- Copper or free turning brass cap
- Piston: Machined of composite material
- Machined of C69300 low lead brass threaded adapter
- Dow-corning silicone compound #111 seal lubricant
- FDA listed for use in potable water systems
- Nickel plated for salt water application
- Designed to operate on all domestic and commercial systems
- 400 psig maximum spike pressure
- System pressures above 80 psi consult factory
- 60 psi nitrogen preload
