ANSI/ASA Specified

NIRON® Backing Ring, Back-Up Ring Fitting, 1-1/2 in, Polypropylene, Material Construction: Polypropylene, Black, Additional Information: 0.71 in THK x 2.44 in ID x 5 in OD

NIRON® is a complete polypropylene pipe and fitting system for the distribution of hot and cold water in plumbing and air conditioning systems, for the conveyance of drinking water and alimentary fluids, for installations in industrial plants and for the transport of compressed air and chemical substances. The pipes and fittings that compose the NIRON® range are produced using random copolymer polypropylene PP-RCT, a plastic material with a special molecular structure ensuring high mechanical-resistance and duration, even at high-temperatures and pressures. The properties and other features of the various components make the NIRON® system a great alternative to traditional material used in plumbing installations. NIRON® pipes and fittings are manufactured in compliance with ASTM F2389, CSA B 137.11 and NSF/ANSI 14 Standards. They also comply with NSF/ANSI 61 and are therefore suitable for the transport of drinking water. Compliance with Standards is ensured by constant monitoring - including testing in external laboratories - by international certification bodies that certify the products made by NUPI Americas, Inc. Use of NIRON® in substitution to metal installations for the distribution of hot water allows two distinct types of energy saving. NIRON® can be used in a pseudo static situation (bathtub or shower and washing machine using hot water) or in a transitory situation (washing of hands or small objects). In the first case, the lower thermal loss of the material reduces passive heat loss by around 20% for a non-insulated pipe or, at the same loss rate, it reduces the insulating material thickness by around 15%. In the second case, lower thermal conductivity allows water supply which is sufficiently hot even when the pipe has not reached the working temperature. In this case, the energy saving related to NIRON® pipes is higher than 10% with peaks up to 20%.

Features

  • NIRON® is manufactured from 100% beta PP-RCT material, a highly crystalline form of PPR which allows for up to twice the pressure rating at higher temperatures and superior chlorine-resistance
  • Produced since 1982, the NIRON® system has been sold in all five continents, over 150000 miles of pipes and fittings have been shipped with complete customer and installer satisfaction
  • The NIRON® system not only meets prestigious international quality standards, but also meets our own benchmarks, quality to us quality stands for complete customer satisfaction, this is obtained exclusively through the supply of products having features that completely fulfil the application requirements and leave the customer with a desire to use the system again
  • This is obtained thanks to the new composite multi-layer piping produced with an innovative co-extrusion technology, the middle layer is made of PP copolymer reinforced with fiberglass to reduce the linear thermal expansion up to 73%
  • Unquestionably the biggest advantage of NIRON® lies in the speed of installation, due to easy joining methods, time of installation can be reduced by up to 30 to 50%
  • Polypropylene is a poor conductor of electricity, so the NIRON® system is cannot be affected by corrosion, further more, thanks to its smooth inner surface, any type of lime incrustation is avoided
  • The low thermal conductivity and smooth wall of NIRON® allows for considerable energy savings compared to metallic materials and saves on pumping costs
  • The noise absorption properties and elasticity of this material soften noise and vibrations caused by the water flow and the water hammer effect
  • The NIRON® system is tested to resist temperatures up to boiling water and freezing conditions, NIRON® FG piping allows thermal expansion to be reduced to levels similar to copper piping
  • The high-resistance of NIRON® pipes eliminates erosion problems and allows high-speed water flow
  • The NIRON® systems is absolutely non-toxic, complies with many international health standards and is fully listed for potable water by NSF
