WATTS® Series N170-M2 hot water extender tempering valves are especially designed for use on larger hot water supply systems for mixing hot and cold water for a variety of applications to extend the hot water supply. This Series features a unique double thermostat design which combines two thermostats in one to provide response to changes in water temperature passing through the mixing chamber. In addition, the operating life of the element is vastly improved over contemporary designs because the travel load is divided evenly between the two sensing elements. This new concept of thermostat design in Series N170-M2 also provides a powerful force on opening and closing. Thus, the combination of a sensitive, powerful thermostatic force combined with a free-moving, high-temperature-resisting rubber disc assures longer valve life and more satisfactory system performance.
