AO Smith Tariff Increase September 2026

Effective September 8, 2026, A. O. Smith Canada will implement a 10% tariff pass-through increase on all new orders for commercial storage tanks. The adjustment follows evolving Canada–United States trade conditions and updates to the federal counter-tariff list. 

• Commercial storage tanks: All new orders beginning September 8, 2026 will receive a 10% tariff pass-through increase.
• Residential water heaters: Remain exempt from the current tariff measures.
• Commercial water heaters: Remain exempt from the current tariff measures.
• Water heater service parts: Certain parts are affected, but the financial impact is still under review.
