Low-profile tanks are manufactured using an FDA approved polyethylene certified for potable water. Polyethylene is an excellent material for sewage tanks as it is resistant to deterioration from chemicals found in sewage. Black polyethylene protects water storage tanks from algae growth and provides additional UV protection which extends the life of the tank.
