Greg Stephenson presented Shelby Whelan and Ryan Knight with the Bartle & Gibson Co. Ltd. Scholarship Awards, through the 2020 EFC Scholarship program. The two students selected received one of two awards of $1750 each.
Shelby Whelan is a 4th year electrical apprentice attending Camosun College.
Ryan Knight is currently attending University of Victoria in his second year studying Electrical Engineering.
The EFC Scholarship program provides post-secondary students, who are interested in pursuing a career in the Electrical industry, with funding to support their academics. Eligible students for Bartle & Gibson's scholarship awards were to be currently attending a post-secondary institute in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan or North West Territories, and were to have successfully completed at least their first year of study in electrical or mechanical apprenticeship, electrical or mechanical technician, electrical or mechanical engineering, information technology or a business discipline. The eligible students must have demonstrated community service through volunteerism and have achieved a cumulative average of 75%.
